Conference Information

CONFERENCE VENUE: The 'Fortezza da Basso' is just few steps from the main city railway station and in the very heart of Florence. It is home to numerous events and international congresses.
The fortress was desigend by Antonio Sangallo the Younger for Alessandro de' Medici, Duke of Florence, and built between 1534 and 1537. It is the largest historical monument of Florence.
ACL 2019 Scientific sessions will be held in the 'Spadolini Pavilion', 'Arsenale Pavillion'; the plenary hall will be held at the 'Cavaniglia'.

The conference venue is just in the heart of Florence: walking distance from all city center hotels, museums and historical monuments:

SOCIAL EVENT: The ACL 2019 Social Event will be held on July 30th within the Fortezza area. A rich program of entertainments (music, opera, historical Renaissance flag-weavers, and much more) will help making this event unforgettable.
The event starts at 7:15 and will include a rich buffet dinner (a choice of Italian specialties and drinks). Bring your partners and children to enjoy the ACL 2019 social event.

POSTER INFORMATION: Posters should be no wider than 91 cm (36 in) and no higher than 122 cm (48 in), in vertical/portrait orientation. A0 paper (in vertical/portrait orientation) meets these requirements.

LETTER OF INVITATION: Participants requiring a formal letter of invitation, to enable them to make their arrangements, should send a copy of a valid passport, personal information and the receipt of the registration fee to the Organizing Secretariat.
It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help delegates to raise funds to to obtain a Visa and does not imply a commitment from the Congress Organizers to provide any financial support or scheduling of presentations.

CLIMATE: In July and August, summer is in full swing throughout the country. Florence is a feast for all senses, because of the number of scents, sounds and flavors the country offers, along with the many events that take place during summertime.

ACCOMMODATION: The Organizing Secretariat has reserved rooms in several hotels in Florence, walking distance from the Fortezza da Basso. Please make your request as soon as possible, so that your requirements can be met. If the preferred hotel category is fully booked, the Organizing Secretariat will offer you another available alternative.

CHILDCARE: A safe, clean environment within the Congress area will be provided, where your children will be taken care of and engaged in fun activities by specialized, English-speaking teachers from Labsitters, a professional childcare agency.
Children can attend for a maximum of eight hours per day within available hours.There will be a relaxing area with mats and pillows for children to rest (no strollers provided). Snacks, water, fruit juices will be served (no lunches provided).
The service is provided for children age 1,5-12, for registered participants, upon reservation.

LIABILITY: ACL 2019 Organizing Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss or damage to private property of participants and accompanying persons. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
